Safety Tip #1:
For consumer mortar shells
we recommend your audience at
least 140 feet from the launch area.
Safety Tip #2:
Wait about 2 minutes before launching another
shell out of the same mortar. This allows time
for the tube to cool.

How is important is safety? Crazy question! We hear way too many stories of people getting
injured because the lack of safety. We can't emphasize safety enough! Please be safe and
make sure your tubes are securely placed in a mortar rack or buried in ground (not common for consumer shells).
The mortar is to placed on a hard surface or buried on the ground. Burying consumer mortars is not common (we don't know of
anyone that does it for consumer mortars), but it may be an option for you. Since most people don't want to dig up their mortars after the show it's much easier to build a rack. As
shown in the above picture you need to put your mortar on a hard surface, such as a 1/2" piece of plywood. Suspending your mortars
in air using U-straps is forbidden!
PyroBOOM wants you to enjoy fireworks and light up the sky, but you must be far away from the tubes when you launch!
Don't ever look into a tube that has a mortar shell in, or it did not go off. Be patient! Wait several minutes or
pour water down the tube. Keep your hands and face away!
PyroBOOM is not responsible for your lack of safety. Our tubes are good, but never assume any tube is flawless and will protect you from harm.
All of our tubes are made of the industry standard HDPE pipe (made in the USA). Check out the pictures. Don't hesitate to
email us with any questions you might have. Let's light up the sky!
PYROBOOM.com mortars and mortar racks must be inspected before each and every use. Mortars should be inspected for swelling, ruptures, or loose plugs.
Mortar racks should be checked for broken or loose wood. If you find that any of these conditions exist the mortar or mortar rack should be disgarded immediately. Any attempt to repair mortars or mortar racks is highly discourged by PYROBOOM.com. All mortars should be used only with an appropriate mortar rack. Mortars racks should be placed on a level hard surface and should always be pointed towards the sky.
